RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - Aug 22, 2011) - TeamMBA, led by Dave Wilson, CEO of Reston-based Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), raised $112,000 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation in the LiveStrong Challenge outside of Philadelphia on August 20-21. Wilson was the top individual fundraiser with $85,000.

GMAC is an international nonprofit association of business schools and owner of the GMAT exam, used by thousands of MBA programs around the world as part of the admissions process.

"This year's race was a very special one," said Wilson. "Cancer has impacted the lives of my friends and family, just as it has touched the lives of so many others. When I turned 70 in June, I committed to bike 70 miles and raise at least $70,000 this year to help fight cancer. I called it my 70-70-70 challenge. Crossing the finish line with TeamMBA, I am honored to be a part of the LiveStrong Challenge Philly and the race against cancer."

Dave rode as part of TeamMBA, GMAC's global initiative to promote volunteerism among MBA students. Launched in 2005, TeamMBA aims to help students and schools find ways to support their communities through charitable programs and services. This year's LiveStrong Challenge team included a group of 19 riders from the business school community across the country. Over the years, TeamMBA has raised close to $500,000 through the LiveStrong Challenge in Philadelphia and other cities. Wilson participated in his 12th LiveStrong Challenge since 2005 and has raised a total of $300,000.
