Data Sets

For the past 50 years, we at GMAC have collected, analyzed, and disseminated research on issues of strategic and practical importance to management education.

A portion of our large-scale data sets are now available to qualified researchers for licensing through the MERInstitute Grants and Affiliated Research Programs.

MERI

Data licensing is part of the MERInstitute's effort to support comprehensive and rigorous research that defines and evaluates the value and outcomes of graduate management education. Data sets are based on surveys of four constituency groups: prospective students, current students, alumni, and employers.

The Following GMAC Surveys Make up the Available Data Sets

mba.com Registrants Survey: This is a study of prospective graduate management students with the primary purpose of understanding the characteristics and behavior of those in different stages of deciding to pursue graduate management education from exploring their decision-making processes as they select the set of schools to which they apply to following  the progress of prospective business school students in their pursuit of an MBA degree one year later.

Global Management Education Graduate Survey: This is an annual survey of students in their final year of graduate business school.The survey gauges the opinions of graduating students about their education and the value of their degrees, gathers information on how students choose the schools they attended, asks whether they would recommend their school to others, and explores what they intend to do with their degrees.

Alumni Perspectives Survey: This is a biannual panel survey of graduate business school alumni who previously participated in our Global Management Education Graduate Surveys. The survey seeks to understand first and/or current job characteristics; track changes in responsibilities, promotions, and salaries; assess performance of graduate management education; and monitor educational needs of alumni.

Corporate Recruiters Survey: An annual survey of employers, this  survey gathers information that graduate school professionals, graduate management students, and prospective students can use to gauge the job market and better understand employers' expectations; provides context to assist employers as they develop recruiting and hiring plans; and offers comprehensive data to business school professionals and employers to benchmark their recruiting practices.
