Data collected from professional MBA alumni—from programs such as part-time MBA, online MBA, and executive MBA—indicate that the share of students receiving funding dropped from around 2 in 3 for the graduating class of 1996 to less than 1 in 2 for the graduating class of 2015.

This has been offset in part by an increase in the percentage of students who have self-financed their professional MBA. Among alumni that earned a professional MBA in 1996, just 1 in 3 (33%) was self-financed. For the class of 2015, that percentage rose to 58 percent.
