Introducing GMAT Badges

Learn more about the newest digital credential for candidates.

GMAT Badges are digital credentials that highlight high-performing candidates in a clear and shareable format. While they do not (and will not) replace official GMAT score reports, they offer an additional signal for job-seeking GMAT test takers that may appear across platforms like LinkedIn or within job application materials. Below are answers to common questions to help schools understand how GMAT Badges are issued, validated, and used.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are GMAT Badges?
GMAT Badges are verifiable digital credentials awarded to test takers who score in the top 25% on the GMAT (Total Score or individual sections). They allow test takers to showcase their performance in a shareable, official format across professional and academic platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, resumes, applications).

Should I accept a GMAT badge over an official GMAT score report?
No. A GMAT Badge does not replace an official GMAT score report. Candidates should continue to send their official GMAT score reports to schools. Schools should continue verifying GMAT scores via the Score Reporting Portal.

Will the GMAT Badge include the GMAT score received?
A GMAT Badge will not display the actual numeric score but rather the percentile achieved (e.g., “Top 15%”).

How can I validate a GMAT badge?
Clicking on a GMAT Badge will open the unique badge page which allows you to verify badge authenticity, validity, and skills achieved.

I received a badge; should I do anything with it?
No, but if a candidate submits a GMAT Badge as part of their application, you should request that the candidate also submit their official GMAT score report.
