GMAT Score Report Terms of Use

These GMAT™ Score Report Terms of Use (“Agreement”) governs the access, receipt, and use of the Score Report Portal and Score Report Data for the Graduate Management Admission Test™ (GMAT™) exam by authorized graduate institutions and/or scholarship/fellowship programs (the “GMAT Program(s)”). If I am the Primary Subscriber of an authorized GMAT Program, I have the authority to contractually bind the GMAT Program to this Agreement and agree that the GMAT Program and its users’ access to and use of the Score Report Portal and Data are subject to this Agreement. As a user of the Score Report Data and Score Report Portal, I agree to abide by this Agreement. To use the Score Report Portal and Data, I agree to abide by this Agreement.

  1. Definitions:
    1. “Primary User” means an employee responsible for managing access to Score Report Data and serving as GMAC’s primary administrative contact for the GMAT Program. Primary Users must use their GMAT Program email address for access to the Score Report Portal. Primary Users are authorized to accept this Agreement on behalf of the GMAT Program,
    2. “Delegate User” means employees or third-party service providers of the GMAT Program that are designated by the Primary User as individuals who should have access to the Score Report Portal and Data.
    3. “Licensees” are the Primary Users, Delegate Users, and other employees and third-party service providers of the GMAT Program who:
      • Require access to Score Report Data to provide a service for the GMAT Program, and
      • Have signed agreements containing confidentiality and other obligations at least as restrictive as those contained herein.
    4. “Score Report Data” means score reports and data and information accessed through the Score Report Portal, including GMAT scores, section scores, superscores, score histories, and related information made available by GMAC.
    5. “Score Report Portal” means the online platform through which GMAC provides access to Score Report Data. References to the Score Report Portal also include reference to any connected APIs that allow GMAT Programs to access Score Report Data available on the Score Report Portal.
    6. “Score Report Portal and Data” means collectively, the Score Report Portal and the Score Report Data.
  2. License to Score Report Data: GMAC grants the GMAT Program, through its Licensees, a nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable, limited license to receive, access, and use Score Report Data and information on the Score Report Portal for the uses and purposes described in this Agreement. GMAT Programs have access to scores sent to them on the Score Report Portal for up to five (5) years from a candidate’s exam date.
  3. Access to the Score Report Portal and Data: Only Primary Users and Delegate Users shall have access to the Score Report Portal and Data. Primary Users are responsible for reviewing, on a regular basis, access by the GMAT Program’s users and for notifying GMAC of any updates via gmatprogram@gmac.com. Only the individuals designated under the “Users” tab shall have electronic access to the Score Report Portal and Data, subject to authorization by the GMAT Program. Should any information change, the Primary User is responsible for promptly updating the Licensee’s information through the “Users” tab. Other Delegate Users may request changes to their profile information by updating their profile page for their gmac.com account. The GMAT Program is responsible for promptly terminating the access of any Licensee whose access to the Score Report Portal should be terminated for any reason. For GMAT Programs not receiving the Score Report Data through the Score Report Portal, the GMAT Program is responsible for notifying GMAC of any changes to any Licensees or other information and ensuring compliance by all Licensees with this Agreement.
  4. Use of Score Report Data: Access to and use of Score Report Data is limited to the GMAT Program and Licensees. The GMAT Program and Licensees shall use Score Report Data only for purposes of evaluating applicants for the GMAT Program’s educational, financial aid, and/or scholarship and fellowship programs. Score Report Data shall not be used for any other purpose. The GMAT Program shall not copy, modify, publish, release, lend, sell, rent, provide access to, create derivative works from, or otherwise disclose Score Report Data to anyone other than those allowed herein without the express prior written consent of GMAC.
  5. Ownership: GMAC is the sole owner of, and shall retain the entire rights to, any copyright, trademark, trade secret, and/or any other proprietary rights in the Score Report Portal and Data. GMAC reserves the right to monitor the access and use of the Score Report Portal and Data.
  6. Compliance with Applicable Law: The GMAT Program agrees that its processing of any Score Report Data (including access to, storage of, and use of Score Report Data) will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, those concerning privacy, data security, marketing, opt-out requirements, anti-spam, and telecommunications. The GMAT Program agrees that the Score Report Data will not be used to discriminate against potential applicants on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, physical or mental disability, age, gender, or other criteria protected by law; however, nothing in this Agreement shall prevent the GMAT Program from using the Score Report Data in connection with a valid and legal affirmative action program that may take such criteria into account to further permissible GMAT Program goals. The GMAT Program agrees that it and all Licensees shall adhere to the generally accepted ethical standards in the admissions of potential candidates.
  7. The GMAT Program and its Licensees are prohibited from engaging or attempting to engage in, or permitting others to engage or attempt to engage in, the following: selling, licensing of access to, or other similar commercial transactions, such as reselling, sub-licensing, leasing, or transferring in return for valuable consideration, the Score Report Data or any part thereof to countries of concern or covered persons, as defined in 28 CFR part 202. Where the GMAT Program knows or suspects that a country of concern or covered person has gained access to the Score Report Data through a data brokerage transaction, the GMAT Program will immediately (and no later than within twenty-four (24) hours) turn off access and inform GMAC and provide any information to GMAC in connection therewith as reasonably requested by GMAC. Such unauthorized access or failure to comply with the above will constitute a breach of this Agreement and may constitute a violation of 28 CFR part 202. The GMAT Program confirms that for this Agreement, it and its Licensees are in compliance with 28 CFR part 202 and any other prohibitions, restrictions, or provisions applicable to the Score Report Data. At GMAC’s request, the GMAT Program agrees to certify to GMAC, in writing, the GMAT Program’s and its Licensees’ compliance with 28 CFR part 202. The GMAT Program agrees not to evade or avoid, cause a violation of, or attempt to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in Executive Order 14117 or 28 CFR part 202.
  8. Privacy and Data Protection: To the extent Score Report Data includes any Personal Data or De-Identified Data, the parties agree that the GMAC Controller-to-Controller Data Protection Addendum available at https://www.gmac.com/-/media/files/gmac/about-us/legal-information/gmac-controller-to-controllerdpa_final-16jun25.pdf (the “DPA”) will apply to the Processing of such Score Report Data and is incorporated by reference into this Agreement as if fully set forth herein. As used in this Section, the terms “De-Identified Data,” “Personal Data,” and “Processing” have the meanings set forth in the DPA.
  9. Monitoring: GMAC reserves the right to monitor the access to and use of the Score Report Portal and Data.
  10. Security: The GMAT Program agrees to employ reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect the Score Report Portal and Data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or use. The GMAT Program shall not transmit any information to GMAC, including, but not limited to, search requests that contain viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or other disabling devices; or use spamming, flooding, or other means to interfere with the Score Report Portal or any other GMAC or vendor user, host, or network.
  11. Incidents: In the event of accidental or unauthorized use, breach, loss, access to, or disclosure of Score Report Data (each, an “Incident”), the GMAT Program shall notify GMAC’s Chief Privacy Official at privacy@gmac.com within twenty-four (24) hours of the Incident. If further notice is required by applicable law, or advisable to prevent harm to the affected individuals, then the GMAT Program shall promptly provide notice to the affected individuals and the proper legal and other applicable authorities, in accordance with applicable law. The GMAT Program shall promptly and fully investigate and remediate any Incidents, provide all such information to GMAC as GMAC may reasonably request, and provide appropriate redress to the affected individuals.
  12. Legal Disclosure: The Score Report Data may be disclosed pursuant to an order of any court or like entity or pursuant to open records statutory requirements, if the GMAT Program provides GMAC with prompt notice of the order or open records requirements and an opportunity to resist disclosure if possible.
  13. No Warranty: GMAC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. GMAC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT USE OF THE SCORE REPORT PORTAL WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT THE SITE WILL BE AVAILABLE AT ANY PARTICULAR TIME, THAT THE SITE IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT THE MATERIALS, INFORMATION, SOFTWARE, PRODUCTS AND SERVICES INCLUDED IN OR AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SITE ARE CORRECT, ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. USE OF THE SCORE REPORT PORTAL IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.
  14. Limitation of Liability: The GMAT Program assumes liability for all costs, expenses, and damages arising out of its use or its Licensees’ use of the Score Report Portal and Data and/or any breach of this Agreement other than a breach by GMAC. The GMAT Program shall have sole responsibility and liability with respect to any and all third-party claims, suits, actions, judgments, liabilities, losses, damages, fines, penalties, costs, and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable fees for attorneys and other professionals) arising out of, resulting from, or based upon its, or any Licensee’s access to or use of any Score Report Data in violation of this Agreement. The GMAT Program shall have sole responsibility for managing the security of all Score Report Data accessed by individuals at or through that GMAT Program and notifying GMAC of any unauthorized uses or users. Neither GMAC nor its service providers shall be liable to the GMAT Program for any special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any nature for any reason, whether such liability is asserted on the basis of contract, tort, or otherwise, even if GMAC has been warned of the possibility of such damages.
  15. Indemnity: To the extent permitted by applicable law and without waiving sovereign immunity, the GMAT Program shall indemnify GMAC (and its affiliates and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and contractors) against any and all third-party claims, suits, actions, judgments, liabilities, losses, damages, fines, penalties, costs, and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable fees for attorneys and other professionals) arising out of, resulting from, or based upon its use or any Licensee’s use of any Score Report Data, any security breach or incident, or any violation by the GMAT Program or any Licensee of this Agreement.
  16. Enforcement: The GMAT Program and its Licensees agree that any use not authorized in this Agreement or any inappropriate use of Score Report Data is prohibited. Any violation of this Agreement may, at the discretion of GMAC, result in termination of the right to access the Score Report Portal and may prevent the GMAT Program from further participation.
  17. Revisions to Terms of Use Agreement: By using the Score Report Portal and Data, you are indicating that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by this Agreement and that GMAC may revise the Agreement from time to time without providing any notice to you. You should visit this page periodically to review the Agreement because continued use of the Score Report Portal and Data after a revision to the Agreement indicates that you and the GMAT Program accept the Agreement as revised.
