Given the rapid growth of Asia’s markets, it’s no wonder that more and more students are looking to Asia to study a Master in Finance (MiF).

1. Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management

Location: Beijing, China

Cost: $28,000

Length: 2-to-3 years

Graduate salary:  $205,387 (95% increase)

For the third year in a row, Beijing-based Tsinghua SEM tops the list as Asia's best Master in Finance. Tsinghua offers one of the most prestigious and rewarding MiF programs in Asia coming fifth overall in the ranking. Its graduates can expect sky-high salaries of $205,387, the highest on the table, topping even those of the best US MiF programs in the FT rankings.  

Graduates land jobs at some of the world’s leading financial institutions, like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and HSBC, as well as some of China’s biggest companies like Huawei and Bank of China (BOC).

2. Peking University Guanghua School of Management

Location: Beijing, China

Cost: $18,000

Length: 2 years

Graduate salary:  $191,477 (59% increase)

Another school based in the Chinese capital, Peking University (PKU) Guanghua School of Management, offers a top master in finance program with high potential salaries. Peking jumped up the table to 12^th this year after coming 19^th in 2022. 

Of Peking’s cohort, 98% are employed three months after graduation. Career prospects include the Internet (of Things) enterprises, finance and securities investment, manufacturing, consulting, government, among many other industries.

3. Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (at Shanghai Jiao Tong University)

Location: Shanghai, China

Cost: $26,300

Length: 2 years

Graduate salary: $186,161 (70% increase)

The Master of Finance at Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) has fallen behind other Asian business schools in the last few years of the master’s in finance ranking. Having come first three years running, it has lost out to Tshinghua and Peking in the last three years. 

It only narrowly lost to Peking, however, coming 13^th to Peking’s 12^th. 

SAIF’s program is taught entirely in English, bringing faculty from business schools around the world. The school has also recently announced an MF-Fintech program, a track exploring the impact of technology on the finance sector.

4. City University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School

Location: Hong Kong

Cost: $51,700 ($42,800 part-time)

Length: 1 year (2 year part-time)

Graduate salary: $101,447 (77% increase)

CUHK Business School offers flexibility to applicants, with both a full-time and part-time Msc in Finance program. On the full-time, students have opportunities to go on exchange and on study trips. 

CUHK is one of the most diverse programs in Asia with 61% of its MiF class being female. Those who graduate are primed for a careers across financial sectors including investment banking, commercial and corporate banking, asset management, regulatory bodies, consulting, financial services, accounting and general management.

5. Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University

Location: Singapore

Cost: $37,800

Length: 1 year

Graduate salary: $ 68,604 (45% increase)

Finally coming in 41^st position, Lee Kong Chian School of Business offers an MSc in Applied Finance (MAF), an ‘industry-relevant’ program provides a strong foundation in the principles, practices and operations of international and domestic financial markets, focusing on applying updated and relevant knowledge in real-world situations.

The MAF is also a partner institution with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute, meaning the program is designed as a preparation for the CFA qualification.
