So, how much do LBS grads earn on average? And what industries typically hire from the MBA cohort? Here's a breakdown based on data from the school's 2024 MBA employment report.

Most popular industries for London Business School MBAs

A total of 87% of the MBA Class of 2024 secured jobs within three months of graduation, with only 1% of graduates rejecting their offers. With a 100% reporting rate among the 502 students, these figures provide a clear and accurate insight into the post-graduate achievements of the LBS MBA Class of 2024.

Consulting was the most popular route for LBS grads, with consulting firms providing 42% off the accepted offers, though this was a marginal decrease from the previous year (45%). Among the Class of 2024, 26% had prior professional experience in the sector, making its first-place position unsurprising.

Finance and technology were the second and third most common routes after graduation for LBS MBAs, respectively. In total, financial firms accounted for 26% of offers, while technology firms saw 21% of students entering the industry for the second consecutive year. 

A further, 22 grads went on to start their own businesses—some with help from the school’s Entrepreneurship Lab—evidence of the school's emphasis on enterprise development and innovation. 

For the MBA Class of 2025, 96% of students seeking internships also accepted offers.

Companies hiring London Business Schools MBAs

In total 510 companies hired from the LBS MBA graduates in 2024, for both full-time and internship positions, marking a significant increase from the previous year (366). 

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) usurped McKinsey & Company of its position as the top consulting employer, providing 45 offers. Other major employers in the sector included Bain & Company (22), Accenture (8), Strategy& (16), Deloitte (5), and EY-Parthenon (2). 

There were several key recruiters from the finance sector, including Morgan Stanley (4), PIMCO (3), Antler (2), and multinational investment bank Citi (2). Tech giants, Amazon (9) and TikTok (2) also featured in the list of top hiring companies for 2024. 

Average London Business School MBA Salary 

The 2024 LBS MBA class secured an average 33% salary increase after graduation, with the mean base salary totaling just over $116,000. Of the students who accepted offers, 83% also received compensation and/or bonuses. 

The highest salaries were reported by those who crossed into investment management, where the mean salary was $139,000, a significant increase from last year's figure ($132,000). With an average salary of $132,000, the 11% who ventured into sectors labeled 'other', which comprises education, training, energy, law, and sports, came in a close second.

LBS grads who landed roles in this year's most popular industry, consulting, enjoyed expansive salaries and compensation packages. The average base salary reached $125,000, while additional financial incentives stretched as high as $147,000. 

Despite a $4,000 drop, compared with the previous year, finance salaries remained significantly high at a little over $117,000. Meanwhile, those employed in the technology sector obtained an average salary of $102,000. 

The lowest salaries were shared by those who ventured into health tech and ed-tech, earning $74,000 and $76,000, respectively.

In line with its diverse cohort, LBS grads assumed roles across 40 different countries. The vast majority of the Class of 2024 accepted jobs in the United Kingdom (45%), where the average salary totaled $111,000. 

LBS grads in Africa and the Middle East experienced a 7% increase, ranking second overall with a total share of 14%. However, with an average compensation package of $75,000—which includes sign-on bonuses and year-end bonuses where data is available——grads in Africa and the Middle East secured the highest average compensation among the regions.

The third most popular destination, Asia (10%), saw students record the lowest mean salaries ($86,000), a decrease of $20,000 from last year. 

North America (10%) proved a very profitable location for the MBA Class of 2024, with the average base salary totaling $165,000—the highest of them all.
