What is the XLRI MBA writing test?

The AEW section has three topics from which candidates choose one for their analytical essay. Essays are expected to be approximately 250 words in length, demonstrating coherence, logical consistency, and a strong argument. 

This task serves as an assessment of the candidates' analytical abilities. To succeed, candidates should ensure their responses reflect clear and structured analyses of the chosen topics. Crafting compelling arguments, supported by evidence and sound reasoning, is crucial.

XLRI MBA careers

XLRI achieved a high placement rate for graduates of the PGDM (HRM) and PGDM (BM) programs in 2025, with almost 35% of students receiving pre-placement offers. 

Alongside the XLRI Delhi NCR campus, a total of 591 students participated in a campus placement drive. The process engaged a total of 172 recruiters, resulting in over 600 domestic offers and two international offers.

Around a quarter (26%) of offers came from the consulting industry, the highest of any sector. Other popular sectors include IT, e-commerce, sales and marketing, and general management. 

Companies making a significant number of offers to XLRI graduates included McKinsey, Accenture, Amazon, BCG, PwC, and Tata Steel. There were also 41 new MBA recruiters at XLRI this year, including Capital One and ITC Infotech.

For this year’s XLRI graduates, the average salary stood at INR 31.08 lakh (around US$34,500) per annum. The highest domestic salary offered to an XLRI graduate reached INR 75 lakh (approx. US$83,000), and came from the banking and financial services sector.
