Every year, employer and brand comparison site Comparably puts together a list of the top US businesses with the best avenues for career progression. The list is based on employee responses to questions such as, ‘Are you challenged at work?’, ‘How often do you get valuable feedback?’, and ‘Does your current company offer meaningful opportunities for career advancement?’

Employees also write reviews on the website, reporting their experiences of different areas such as the company culture and growth opportunities. This provides a more personalized picture of how their workplace supports them.   

So, to find out which are the best companies for career growth currently, we took a look at this year’s list. Here are the top 10 companies for 2025.

10. Esri

Tech company Esri is a global leader in mapping and spatial data analytics, and its employees rate it just as highly. The company’s leadership earns an A+ rating, and employees consistently highlight a culture of support and openness.

"The number-one thing I hear… it is always OK to ask for help. I've found this to be true. Everyone is helpful and supportive. They genuinely care about your success," said one employee.

Esri scores highly for diversity, ranking in the top 5% of companies of its size. Employees also noted flexible working hours as being one of the most valued benefits after healthcare.

If you're looking to work for a company where senior management isn’t out of reach, Motive could be a good fit. "The best thing is that everyone in the org is reachable so easily," said one employee.

Tech company Motive’s culture ranks in the top 5% compared to similar-sized companies. When asked to name the most positive aspect of that culture, one anonymous reviewer cited a positive company work ethic and healthy communication.

8. TaskUs

TaskUs is a global outsourcing company that provides business services to tech firms. It scored in the top 5% for its future outlook, and also received high ratings for its CEO, Bryce Maddock, who earned an A+ from employees. Staff also report feeling that the organization cares about them and that the company culture makes it a fun, enjoyable place to work. On future prospects, one anonymous respondent noted: “I'm learning things every day that can be applied as a new skill set.”

Employees also felt their wellbeing was a priority. “The work environment is both productive and friendly, which helps to combat burnout,” said one respondent.

7. Teleperformance 

Teleperformance is a multinational outsourcing company that specializes in customer experience and digital services. Employees rate its workplace culture highly, placing the company among the top 5% of comparable organizations. Salaries and benefits are well regarded too, with 86% of respondents saying they feel fairly paid and satisfied with the benefits on offer.

One employee commented: “The company fosters a workplace culture that promotes an exceptional employee experience.”

6. Paycom

HR and payroll tech company Paycom is seen by employees as a place that actively supports their development.

“The team provides growth opportunities and encourages multidimensional growth,” said one reviewer. It also scores well on pay, with 87% of anonymous respondents saying they feel fairly compensated. Senior leadership was praised for leading by example and helping employees feel valued.

5. Calix

Based in sunny San Jose, California, an impressive 97% of Calix's employee reviews were positive. The telecoms company earns consistently high praise from employees, scoring A+ for CEO, Diversity, Happiness, and Perks and Benefits. The company's future outlook is also rated highly.

"The work environment is highly positive, encouraging collaboration, providing opportunities for professional growth, and rewarding employees with awards," noted one respondent.

4. Synopsys

An innovative electronic design automation company, Synopsys employees report being rewarded with great opportunities for growth and innovation. The company's leadership team is praised as being direct and transparent.

"The constant challenges and different tasks I need to do on a daily basis keep the work exciting and fun," said one anonymous respondent, while another welcomed the ability to "overachieve based on performance." 

3. Baylor Scott & White Health

Texas-based Baylor Scott & White Health is the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in the state. Employees praise the company for its commitment to supporting employee ambitions.

"Great opportunity for growth, career advancement, and degree advancement [are] provided by the company," observed one respondent. 

Ranking favorably for its CEO, Diversity, Women and Culture, BS&WH was praised for being supportive and for its good communication and flexibility.

"You actually matter here and they push you to follow your dreams and be all you can be," one respondent noted. 

2. ADP

It’s no surprise that a company specializing in HR resources management software takes employee development seriously. ADP scores highly across the board, with staff praising its focus on growth, leadership, and wellbeing.

“ADP has afforded me opportunities for career growth and earning potential,” said one respondent. Another added: “I've had leaders show me how to become the next leader and innovator.”

Generous commissions and employee discounts were also well received. “The pay is competitive and there are tons of health and wellness programs,” said one reviewer.

1. Elsevier

This global information analytics company secured this year’s top spot thanks to a combination of strong leadership, fair remuneration, and a culture of collaboration and ownership.

“What I like best about the leadership team is their clarity of vision,” said one respondent. Another added: “My team is supportive, collaborative, welcoming, focused, positive.”

Opportunities for growth appear plentiful at Elsevier, with lateral moves between departments and cross-functional teamwork frequently mentioned. “Everyone was encouraged to share ideas and contribute. It fostered an open and supportive atmosphere that helped drive creativity and productivity,” said one employee.
