Alumni Perspectives Survey

This semiannual survey of alumni who have previously participated in one of our Global Graduate surveys is designed to:

  • Document characteristics for first/current jobs
  • Track changes in responsibilities, promotions, and salary over time
  • Assess the benefits of management education
  • Monitor alumni educational needs

Each year, about 3/4 of those surveyed in their final year of school express interest in participating in longitudinal studies tracking their career decisions and job satisfaction.

Major Findings

  • 94% alumni were employed, and the unemployment rate among alumni was
lower than area-wide rates in the US and EU.
  • The median salary increase between pre-degree salary and salary six months after graduation was 53% for full-time MBA graduates and 29% for part-time program graduates.
  • Interpersonal skills were viewed as the most important skill
used on the job across all alumni job levels.

Our Latest Reports

  • Comprehensive Data Report—data tables and summaries of overall findings from the April 2009 survey.
  • Survey Report—combined findings from April and September 2008 surveys for context and a holistic view of major results.

GMAC conducts this survey twice a year; the findings are released in three reports: a data report for the April survey, another data report for the September survey, and one Survey Report based on findings from the two.
