New Programs In August, students from Lagos Business School in Nigeria hosted a program by Antai College of Economics and Management on doing business in China. The W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University launched a master of science in business analytics in its fall term, as well as a BA in business with a human resources concentration and one with a sports and media studies concentration. Babson Global, a subsidiary of Babson College, has signed a licensing agreement with Stanford University-developed NovoEd to use its platform to pilot four online courses. Under the agreement Babson instructors will teach four courses in entrepreneurship. Separately, the college announced the launch of “Buying a Small Business—Online,” a four-week program designed to help entrepreneurs learn how to acquire small businesses. Sweeping changes in the curriculum at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Law include a required series of courses on leadership taught by faculty from the university’s Weatherhead School of Management. Cass Business School at City University London has teamed with Dutch business school TiasNimbas to offer an executive PhD program. The four-year program includes ten five-day residential training weeks, half of which will take place in London and half in Tilburg, The Netherlands. CEIBS has signed partnership agreements with Siemens Healthcare and Merck KGaA. EBS Universität has entered into a partnership with FPT University, which has locations in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City. Starting in October, the professional services organization EY will support a new track, “Managing Business Integrity,” in the executive MBA program at ESMT European School of Management and Technology. The McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, ESADE Business School, and FGV’s Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE), have launched a joint corporate international master’s program. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has partnered with China Merchants Group to provide internships and overseas exchange opportunities for HKUST students. The agreement also includes executive education programming for China Merchants Group management. IESE Business School has announced a short focused program on finance and accounting for non-financial managers, scheduled for next month in Barcelona. As Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business expands its programs for executives, it has announced that classes in its certificate and EMBA programs will be intertwined and that, based on their performance while completing coursework for the certificate program, students may be able to apply their credits toward a Kelley MBA. Separately, the university recently signed a partnership agreement with the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science. A three-week immersion program in business analytics brought 22 students from S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research to Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business this past summer. The students are part of a one-year master’s level management program at S. P. Jain, where they have an information technology focus. The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship in the College of Business Administration at Kent State University is offering students the opportunity to earn a professional sales certificate. The Marquette University College of Business Administration is offering a free MOOC, “Introduction to Applied Investing.” The Engineering Management program at Purdue University, a collaboration of Purdue’s College of Engineering and Krannert School of Management, now offers recent engineering graduates two new tracks: a one-year accelerated option and a two-year track that includes one year of applied work experience. The new tracks include graduate-level engineering and business courses with an emphasis on systems and business management. Rutgers Business School has opened 100 Rock, a distinctive 143,000-square-foot building on its Livingston, N.J. campus. Separately, the Rutgers Center for Management Development will offer a mini-MBA program focused on social media for non-profit leaders and public officials next month. Instructors are Rutgers faculty members from the Rutgers Business School-Newark and New Brunswick, and the School of Management and Labor Relations, as well as industry experts. Texas A&M University is starting a master’s of science in analytics program. Neely Business School at Texas Christian University has launched its MBA program for energy professionals and MS in supply chain management. The University at Buffalo School of Management announced the opening of the Center for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness, focused on advancing research and teaching in leadership and its impact on organizational effectiveness. Pending necessary approvals, the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business plans to offer an online bachelor’s degree in business administration starting next fall. The School of Business Administration at the University of Miami has announced plans to launch the Miami Executive MBA for the Americas program, starting next August. The program will focus on four key management themes: global multicultural leadership, managing global operations and decision making, global strategy and execution, and entrepreneurship, innovation and technology. It will also include a focus on peer learning as participants discuss business challenges they experience each day. The University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore will collaborate on a project to advance sustainability research and education in India. The Leventhal School of Accounting at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California is launching an online version of its master in business taxation degree. The McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin has welcome 55 students as the inaugural class in its one-year master of science in business analytics program. Among 16 programs that it will offer this fall semester, Darden Executive Education at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business has announced three new courses: “Strategic Marketing Management,” “Marketing Analytics: Effective Resource Allocation,” and “Drive Business Growth and Innovation: Mindsets, Behaviors and Tools.” Warwick Business School has launched the Business Innovation & Growth (BIG) program, a series of workshops for owner-managers and senior employees of small- to medium-sized enterprises. Washington State University College of Business has created three certificate concentrations in its MBA program, in marketing, finance, and international business. The School of Graduate Studies at the American University of Nigeria is launching an MBA program as well as a postgraduate diploma in management. Bemidji State University has announced plans to launch an online MBA next fall. The College of Business Administration at California State University San Marcos has launched an accelerated MBA program. Students receive certificates as they work their way through the program, which culminates in a specialized MBA degree. East Central University has opened a new building, the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center, home to the Harland C. Stonecipher School of Business. The Fred M. Hale School of Business at East Texas Baptist University has started an MBA program in entrepreneurial leadership. Endicott College has opened a US$19 million School of Business and Science Center. Franklin University has named its business college as the Stanley M. and Richard M. Ross College of Business. Kathmandu University School of Management has restructured its MBA program, adding specialization options, an emphasis on soft managerial skills and ethical values, and other innovations. Kedge Business School, created through the merger of French business schools Euromed Management and BEM, is starting a global EMBA program. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor has named its business school the McLane College of Business, honoring donors Elizabeth and Drayton McLane, Jr., and their family. Missouri Southern State University will begin offering a master of accountancy degree next fall. Montclair State University is building a new building for its School of Business. Southern University Baton Rouge has partnered with Education Online Services Corporation to launch an online MBA program. St. Lawrence University has started an undergraduate “Business in the Liberal Arts” major that leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree. The University at Albany has opened a US$64 million building for its School of Business building and announced an undergraduate program in digital forensics. The B.F. Moody III College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has started an executive MBA program. The Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City has opened a new building, the Henry W. Bloch Executive Hall for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort College of Business will begin offering a Master of Business Administration next fall. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Business plans to offer its MBA program online beginning in January. The University of Vermont School of Business Administration has announced plans to launch an MBA program in sustainable entrepreneurship next fall. The University of Wolverhampton has announced plans for a £11m building to house its business school. Utah State University has broken ground on a US$42 million building for its Jon M.
