From the Fundraising Desk Idan Ofer and the Idan and Batia Ofer Family Foundation have pledged £25 million toward the redevelopment of Old Marylebone Town Hall, part of London Business School. The donation is the largest single gift in the school’s history. The school has announced its first comprehensive fundraising campaign, seeking to raise £100 million over the next five years. The University of California, San Diego has received a US$6.05 million bequest from the late Walter J. Zable and his wife, Betty C. Zable, part of which will support an endowed faculty chair in the university’s Rady School of Management. Separately, the U.S.-Israel Center for Innovation and Economic Sustainability at the Rady School has received US$1.25 million from the Leichtag Foundation through the Israel Studies Field of Interest Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego. The Pershing Square Foundation has donated £4.5 million to endow MBA scholarships in the Oxford 1+1 program in the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School. Bringing their total support for the university to US$16 million, Chuck and Char Fowler have committed US$6 million to support fellowships at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University Jeffrey Clark and his wife, Bonnie Clark, have provided US$6 million to help establish the Jeffrey D. Clark Center for Entrepreneurship in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. Dong-Bin Shin has donated US$4 million to Columbia Business School for scholarships. AXA Research Fund, the scientific philanthropy initiative of global insurance group AXA, has donated €2 million to establish a chair in financial market risk at INSEAD. As part of an ongoing collaboration, Banco Santander, through its Santander Universities Global Division, has donated US$2.5 million to UCLA Anderson School of Management to help fund the university's executive education programs for global women leaders. Martina Hund-Mejean and her husband Bruno Mejean have pledge US$1 million for scholarships to the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Business will be named for supporters Charles and Patsy Collat in recognition of their US$25 million in gifts and pledges to the school.
