New Programs

  • The Kogod School of Business at American University is introducing a BS in business and entertainment degree program starting this fall.  

  • Recent executive education programs at Antai College of Economics & Management at Shanghai JiaoTong University include the Shanghai Cadre Senior Training Course, a leadership course for representatives of municipal government held earlier this month.

  • Cass Business School at City University London is starting a part-time master’s in wealth management program this fall. Separately, the school announced its Centre for Charity Effectiveness will launch a program for aspiring chief executives of nonprofit organizations this June. The first intake for the program, a sister program to one for new chief executives, is fully subscribed.

  • A new version of the master of public administration program at Copenhagen Business School is based three interrelated themes: managerial capacity, public value, and innovative strategy.

  • EBS Business School established a dual degree program with the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. After completing three trimesters at IIMA, EBS students earn the renowned post-graduate program in management, equivalent to an MBA. At the same time, Indian IIMA students will earn a master of science or MBA at EBS Business School in addition to their IIMA degree.

  • EDHEC Business School has announced a “refresher” for its MBA & EMBA graduates, offering alumni a chance to meet in Paris in June to network, reinvigorate their MBA skills, and hear from some of their favorite professors.

  • ESSEC has launched two new master's programs in finance and accounting.

  • Harvard Business School (HBS) has scheduled an executive education program, “Strategic Marketing in Entertainment, Media, and Sports,” for next month on the HBS campus. The program will address the challenges of developing and marketing a successful entertainment franchise. Another June executive education offering, “Business Innovations in Global Health Care,” will focus on effective models of forward-thinking health care organizations in emerging and established economies. In July, HBS will launch “Leading a Global Enterprise,” intended to teach business leaders how to operate effectively in a global corporate world.

  • IMD has announced an open-enrollment executive education program, “Organizational Learning in Action,” scheduled for October. The five day program targets professionals responsible for corporate learning, human resources, talent management, management development, technical training, and learning technologies.

  • London Business School has won a significant contract to train managers at Oman Oil Company and its associated group companies.

  • MIT Sloan School of Management is expanding its popular Big Data executive education program by adding an option to take the program online.

  • The National University of Singapore and IBM are collaborating to establish the NUS Centre for Business Analytics in partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board. The center will begin offering a master of science degree in business analytics starting this August.

  • This fall, the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University will begin offering graduate certificate programs in nonprofit management and sustainable business.

  • Portland State University’s Center for Retail Leadership is launching a certificate program aimed at preparing students to work in Oregon’s burgeoning athletic and outdoor industries. Coursework will emphasize marketing, retailing, distribution, and sales.

  • IBM and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute are partnering to offer a one-year, 30-credit master of science in business analytics degree in Rensselaer’s Lally School of Management and Technology, starting this fall.

  • Rutgers School of Business-Camden has opened a finance lab and center for investment management.

  • The Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder has unveiled a center for education on social responsibility, born out of a current program dedicated to teaching students about values and ethics.Scholars from a number of universities have created a consortium for research on private equity, the Private Equity Research Consortium (PERC), that will be housed at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School. Its formation was made possible by a generous grant from the UAI Foundation, a non- profit foundation devoted to supporting research in finance.

  • The University of Southern California Marshall School of Business will launch an online master of science program in global supply chain management this fall.

  • USB-ED, the public executive development company within the University of Stellenbosch Business School, will present a program on the business management of projects in September 2013.

  • The Canadian Corporate Counsel Association and the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto jointly launched a certification program for Canadian in-house counsel, focusing on the transition from an external legal position to a strategic internal business partner.

  • The Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the university’s school of human ecology have collaborated to open a laboratory where faculty and graduate students will conduct behavioral research, including experimental economics.

  • Rising college seniors can start earning credits toward a master of science in finance this July with the launch of a master of finance accelerated program at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.

  • The College of Charleston School of Business will introduce an undergraduate finance major this fall.

  • Jacksonville University will launch a doctorate in business administration program in fall 2014.

  • Rouen Business School and Reims Management School have merged.
