Biz Buzz: From the Fundraising Desk Baylor University has received a US$35 million gift from Paul L. Foster. Part of the gift will help construct a 275,000-square foot facility, to be named the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation, that will house Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business. The School of Business Administration at Portland State University has received US$8 million from an MBA alumnus and his wife who wish to remain anonymous to help expand its building and programs. The Pershing Square Foundation has given £4.5m to the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford to endow the Oxford Pershing Square Graduate Scholars Programme, which will fund up to five scholarships a year for promising future leaders of social change studying for the Oxford 1+1 MBA program. Ivey Business School at Western University will be one of the beneficiaries of a C$3 million gift from Western Chancellor Emeritus John M. Thompson and his wife, Melinda. The gift will create a leadership and innovation certificate program, taught by both Ivey and Western engineering faculty, that combines business leadership and innovation skills with the technical components of engineering. A consortium of researchers headed by the University of Exeter Business School has been awarded £1.5 million by the Research Council UK to undertake research into the digital economy. Frank and Helen Wewers have pledged a US$1 million bequest to provide scholarship support for undergraduate or graduate students at the Henry W.
