Brent Ambrose has been appointed director of the PhD program at the Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business. A professor of risk management at Smeal, Ambrose holds a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University as well as an MBA and PhD from the University of Georgia.
D. K. Batra has joined Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, Delhi as director. Batra graduated in BTech (Textile Tech) from Technological Institute of Textiles, M D University, and holds an MBA in marketing and a PhD in management from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
Raymond Braun has been named dean of the College of Business Administration at Bowling Green State University. Braum earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics at Bowling Green State University and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Bernard T. Ferrari has been named dean of Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School. A management consultant and former surgeon, Ferrari earned both BA and MD degrees from the University of Rochester. He also earned a JD from Loyola University School of Law and an MBA from Tulane University School of Business.
Paul Fouts has been named dean of the Edward S. Ageno School of Business at Golden Gate University. Fouts earned his BA in dramatic art at the University of California, Berkeley, his MBA in management at Sonoma State University and his PhD in management at the University of Oregon.
Gary Fraser has been named as assistant dean and executive director of the Keenan MBA Career Services Center at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. Fraser earned a BS degree from Syracuse University and an MBA from NYU Stern, and completed a doctorate in higher education administration at the University of Pennsylvania.
Reginald (Reggie) H. Gilyard has been selected as dean of the George L. Argyros School of Business and Economic at Chapman University, starting in August. A former partner and managing director of the Boston Consulting Group, Gilyard holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics/operations research and an MS in computer systems engineering from the US Air Force Academy, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
David Grant has been named Deputy Dean (Academic) at the University of Sydney Business School. Grant earned his BA from the University of Essex and his MSc and PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Clifton Jones has been named dean of the University of South Carolina Aiken’s School of Business Administration, effective July 2. Currently chair of economics and finance and a professor of economics at the Rusche College of Business at Stephen F. Austin State University, Jones earned his BA in economics at the University of Texas-Austin and his PhD in economics at Texas A&M University.
Micheál Kelly has been named the dean of the Laurier School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, effective in July. Currently a professor of strategic and international management and a former dean at the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, Kelly earned his bachelor’s degree in foreign affairs and economics from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts, a master of science in political science-international relations from the University of Ottawa, and a doctor of philosophy in political science from Carleton University.
Brigadier General (Retired) Thomas A. Kolditz has been appointed as professor in the practice of leadership and director of the Leadership Development Program at the Yale School of Management. Most recently a professor and head of the behavioral sciences and leadership at the US Military Academy at West Point, Kolditz holds a BA from Vanderbilt University, as well as MA and PhD degrees in social psychology from the University of Missouri, a master of military arts and science from the School of Advanced Military Studies, and a master’s in strategic studies from the US Army War College.
Gene Klippel has been named dean of Michigan Technological University’s School of Business and Economics. Klippel earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in marketing from the University of Cincinnati and received his PhD in business administration from Pennsylvania State University.
Joanne Li has been named dean of Wright State University’s Raj Soin College of Business, effective July 9. A professor and chair of finance at Towson University, Li earned her bachelor’s degree and PhD, both in finance, from Florida State University.
Patrick G. Maggitti has been named as the Helen and William O’Toole Dean of the Villanova University School of Business. Maggitti earned his BS in chemistry from Saint Joseph’s University, his MBA from the Johns Hopkins University and his PhD in strategic management from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Donna T. Mayo has been tapped to be dean of the Mike Cottrell School of Business at North Georgia College & State University, effective July 1. Currently dean and professor of marketing in the School of Business at Dalton State College, Mayo earned her B.A. at Mississippi College, her MBA at the University of Southern Mississippi, and her PhD at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.
Sylvia Maxfield has been named dean of the School of Business at Providence College, effective August 1. A faculty member at the Simmons College School of Management, Maxfield received a bachelor’s degree in economics and government from Cornell University and earned a PhD in political economy from Harvard University.
Colleen McGuire has been named director of the part-time and executive MBA programs at the University of Connecticut’s School of Business Graduate Business Learning Center in downtown Hartford. McGuire holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Central Connecticut State University and an MBA from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business Administration. She has also been designated as a Chartered Financial Analyst by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts.
Jane Mutchler has been appointed dean of the School of Management at Purdue University Calumet. Mutchler earned undergraduate and master’s degrees in accounting at the University of South Florida and a PhD in accounting and economics at the University of Illinois.
Professor dt ogilvie has been named dean of the E. Philip Saunders College of Business Rochester Institute of Technology, effective in August. Currently on the faculty at Rutgers Business School-Newark and New Brunswick, ogilvie earned her BA in sociology at Oberlin College, holds an MBA in business strategy and policy from Southern Methodist University, and earned her PhD in strategic management at the University of Texas at Austin.
Susan Schurman has been named dean of the School of Management and Labor Relations at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where she will also continue to serve as dean of the University College Community. Schurman earned her BA and MA degrees from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
Kathy “Kat” Schwaig has been named dean of the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University. Formerly associate dean for academic affairs in the college, Schwaig holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA in information systems from Baylor University. She earned a PhD in management information systems from the University of South Carolina.
Daniel Szpiro has been named dean of the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University. Szpiro holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, an MBA from Queen’s University, a master’s degree in international accounting and finance from the London School of Economics, and a doctorate from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Raghu Tadepalli has been named dean of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business at Elon University, effective July 1. Currently dean and professor of marketing at the F. W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College, Tadepalli has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in commerce with a major in accounting from Andhra University in India. He completed his MBA with a concentration in marketing at Arizona State University and earned his PhD at Virginia Tech.
Michael Tidwell has been named the dean of the College of Business at Eastern Michigan University, effective July 1. Currently dean of the College of Business at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, Tidwell earned a bachelor’s degree at Ball State University and a master’s degree and PhD from Washington State University.
Joe Walenciak has been named head of the newly formed college of business at John Brown University, where he will serve as associate dean. Walenciak hold a B.S. from John Brown University and earned his MBA and PhD at the University of Arkansas.
Timothy Wilkinson has been named dean of Whitworth University’s School of Global Commerce & Management, effective July 1. Currently the interim dean of the College of Business at Montana State University Billings, Wilkinson received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming and a master’s of public administration at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He earned his PhD from the University of Utah.
Carl P. Zeithaml has been appointed to his fourth five-year term as dean of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. Zeithaml earned his BA in economics at the University of Notre Dame, his MBA in health and hospital administration from the University of Florida, and his DBA in strategic management at the University of Maryland.
