Allen Questrom and his wife, Kelli, have given US$10 million from the Allen & Kelli Questrom Foundation to the School of Management at Boston University. The gift will endow two professorships and kick-start plans for an executive education center.

The unit at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin that connects local start-up companies with entrepreneurial graduate students has been renamed the Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs, in recognition of a gift of more than US$6 million from its namesake.

The Emerson Charitable Trust has pledged US$3 million to support a new auditorium in the Olin Business School at the Washington University in Saint Louis Danforth Campus, part of a major expansion will nearly double the school’s footprint.

Peter Bren has pledged US$1.25 million to the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate, a joint center of the UCLA Anderson School of Management and UCLA School of Law. The gift will help establish the Peter Bren Initiative for Real Estate Entrepreneurial Studies at UCLA, which will create an advanced case studies course focused on entrepreneurial real estate as a capstone to the MBA real estate concentration and the school’s Bren Fellows program.

Le Moyne College has named its business school the Madden School of Business, honoring alumnus Michael Madden, who provided a founding gift of US$7 million for the school.

Best-selling author Robert Waller, author of The Bridges of Madison County, has made what was described as “a high level seven-figure gift” to his alma mater, the University of Northern Iowa, where he later served as dean and professor in the College of Business. Among other applications, the gift will support a scholarship and professorship in economics as well as a faculty enrichment fund in the business school.

Miami University has announced a US$1 million gift from G. Richard (Dick) Thomas to assist the Farmer School Business in attracting and retaining faculty.

William C. Marcil and Jane Black Marcil have given US$1 million to the Offutt School of Business at Concordia College in Minnesota. A US$1 million gift from Mimi and Edwin Feliciano will support creation of the Center for Entrepreneurship at the School of Business at Montclair State University.

Carlton Highsmith has donated US$1 million to support entrepreneurship in Quinnipiac University’s School of Business.
