Eric Abrams has been hired to be the first diversity director at the Haas School of Business at the University of California-Berkeley. A former assistant dean at Stanford University, Abrams earned his AB degree at Stanford University and his MA at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Jeffrey R. Alves has been appointed dean of the Jay S. Sidhu School of Business and Leadership at Wilkes University after serving as interim dean. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, he earned a master’s degree in finance from Southern Illinois University and a doctorate in business administration with a concentration in finance and small business from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Barbara McConnell Barrett has been appointed to serve as interim president at Thunderbird School of Global Management. Barrett, former US ambassador to Finland, is CEO of Triple Creek Guest Ranch. She earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and law degrees at Arizona State University.

Richard Bebee has been confirmed as the new dean of the School of Business and Public Administration at the University of the District of Columbia. A former dean at Ohio University-Chillicothe, Bebee earned a BA in business at Anderson University, an MBA with an emphasis in accounting at Indiana University, and a PhD at the University of Colorado.

Paul M. Bobrowski, a past dean of Auburn University’s College of Business, has been named dean of the University of Dayton’s School of Business Administration. After earning a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from the US Air Force Academy, Bobrowski earned an MS in management from Purdue University and a PhD in operations management from Indiana University.

Hugh G. Courtney has been appointed as dean of the College of Business Administration at Northeastern University. Courtney comes to Northeastern from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he was vice dean at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Courtney earned a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1991 and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northwestern University in 1985.

Miles K. Davis has been named dean of the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business at Shenandoah University, where he has been an associate professor of management. Davis has a bachelor’s degree in communication from Duquesne University, a master’s in human resources development from Bowie State University, and a doctorate in organization behavior and management from George Washington University.

Soumitra Dutta has been named dean of the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. A professor of business and technology and founder and faculty director of a new media and technology innovation lab at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, Dutta earned a B.Tech. in electrical engineering and computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. He earned an MS in business administration, an MS in computer science, and a PhD in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.

Stanley G. Eakins has been named dean of the East Carolina University College of Business. A professor of finance at ECU, Eakins had previously served as associate dean of ECU. Eakins earned his bachelor’s degree at Washington State University, his MBA at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and his PhD from Arizona State University.

Jesse Greene has been appointed as an executive in residence at Columbia Business School. A former vice president of financial management and chief financial risk officer for IBM, Greene holds a degree in mechanical engineering from New York University’s School of Engineering and Science, an MBA from Columbia Business School, and a JD from Columbia Law School.

Paul Jarley has been named dean of the University of Central Florida College of Business Administration. Currently the dean of the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Jarley received a BA in economics and an MA in public policy from the University of Michigan and a PhD in industrial relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Rafael Gómez Nava has been appointed dean of IPADE Business School at the Universidad Panamericana. A professor of operations management, Nava had previously served as director of IPADE’s full-time MBA Program. Nava has a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from Universidad La Salle and earned his PhD in organizational management governance from Universidad de Navarra, Spain. He also completed the MEDE (full-time MBA) at IPADE.

Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh has been appointed dean of the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and the undergraduate Quinn School at University College Dublin. Ó hÓgartaig has been a professor of accountancy at UCD. He has a BComm from NUI Galway and a PhD from the University of Leeds.

Ashok Subramanian has been named dean of the Harold Walter Siebens School of Business at Buena Vista University. The chair of the Information Systems Department in the College of Business Administration at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, Subramanian has a BSc in chemistry from the University of Bombay, India, and MBA and a PhD degrees in management information systems from the University of Houston.

Laurie Weingart, Carnegie Bosch Professor of Organizational Behavior and Theory at the Tepper Schoool of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, has been selected as the director of the Center for Excellence in Communication and Leadership. Weingart holds a BS from the University of Illinois and a PhD from Northwestern University.
