Brandman University Extended Education, part of the Chapman University system,  has partnered with the Society for Human Resource Management to offer an online course, “Global Professional in Human Resources,” designed to help human resources professionals compete in today’s increasingly global market. … Cass Business School’s Dubai Centre has introduced an entrepreneurship stream in its executive MBA program, adding modules on new venture creation, private equity, and innovation and entrepreneurship. … The Chinese University of Hong Kong has created Hong Kong’s first undergraduate double degree in business administration and journalism, offered jointly by the CUHK Business School and the university’s journalism school. …
 
Cass Business School at City University London has partnered with Singapore Management University to start a joint MSc in quantitative finance program. Students in the one-year program, which starts next month, will study at Cass in their second term and will earn a joint degree from both schools. … The Eugene Lang Entrepreneurship Center has announced the launch of Columbia Business Lab, an office space in the Soho section of New York City for recently graduated Columbia Business School entrepreneurs. Separately, the Columbia-Harlem Small Business Development Center has moved to the business school from Columbia’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. The center is a part of a small-business development network in New York State. … Copenhagen Business School and the University of Copenhagen have announced plans to collaborate in developing business master’s programs in French, German, and Spanish. …
At the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, the Allwin Initiative for Corporate Citizenship been renamed the Center for Business & Society. The center investigates such topics as corporate social responsibility, environmental sustainability, social entrepreneurship, and community involvement. … Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University has announced a new partnership with Shell Netherlands BV, one of the companies that helped found the school more than 40 years ago, designed to forge closer relationships between Shell and RSM professors, staff, and students. … ESSEC Business School has partnered with French Arabian Business School of Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain to launch an MBA program. …

To help representatives in the media cope with rapid changes in their industry, Harvard Business School will host an executive education program, “Effective Strategies for Media Companies: Leading Strategic Renewal,” next month. … IE Business School is launching Executive MBA+ and Global MBA+ programs. Participants can custom-design their MBA program, selecting from over 100 different combinations of specializations, languages, and formats. … Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business has teamed with the Corporate Executive Board to offer an executive education program for senior sales leaders, “Innovating Sales: Strategic Management and Leadership Development,” which will be offered September 10-13. Separately, Georgetown McDonough has teamed with KPMG to create the Georgetown Institute for Consumer Research. …

The George Washington University School of Business and GWU’s law school have collaborated to create an interdisciplinary Master of Science in Government Contracts degree program. The program blends the study of government procurement law and policy with a core business curriculum and is intended for professionals from a variety of acquisition-related jobs in both government and private industry. …

Great Lakes Institute of Management has opened a two-year postgraduate program in management that focuses on emerging economies. Separately, the institute has dedicated a campus in Chennai. … HEC Montréal has created a research unit focused on the role of accounting in corporate governance and management. … IIM Lucknow has opened registration for a one-year, part-time general management program for executives. … NMIMS School of Business Management has partnered with SHRM India, a subsidiary of the Society of Human Resource Management, to support education in human resource management. … North Carolina State University’s Poole College of Management has announced an executive course on business essentials for engineers, scientists, and others from applied technical fields. “A key goal of the program is to enable participants to become ‘boundary spanners’—technical leaders who have the general management awareness to work effectively across functional areas within their organization,” said Dan McGurrin, who directs executive programs at Poole College. …

The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University and Certified Management Accountants of British Columbia have partnered to create a combined curriculum that will help qualified applicants expedite their CMA designation upon completion of their MBA. …This fall, the executive education center in the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics will launch and Institute for Business Management & Leadership Excellence. … The University of South Carolina has closed a US$65 million bond sale that will help finance construction of a 250,000-square-foot building for the Darla Moore School of Business. …

The University at Buffalo and its School of Management have announced plans to invest US$525,000 in the school’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership to expand both the scope and reach of its activities. … The University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School has invited MBA alumni to continue their education throughout their careers by enrolling in classes in the school’s online program, MBA at UNC, launched last July. “We expect that the classes will appeal to alumni who want to update their skills, need to broaden their knowledge as they change functions, or work in rapidly changing fields,” says MBA at UNC Executive Director Susan Cates. …

The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is developing a multidisciplinary track in cybersecurity leadership as part of offerings through the university’s graduate certificate of professional studies. … To help executives hone their marketing skills, the University of Miami School of Business Administration will offer a five-day certificate program on advanced marketing strategy beginning this fall. The program will be taught in both English and Spanish. … The Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, part of the Kenan-Flagler Business School, will launch a US$1.6 million center to promote business growth and job creation in eastern North Carolina. The Center for Jobs and Innovative Business Development will be funded with a five-year, US$642,949 grant from the US Economic Development Administration and US$1 million in matching funds from the institute. …

The Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas as Dallas is starting a certificate program in healthcare information technology. … The University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management has signed a memorandum of understanding with the China Banking Association that opens the door for the school to provide risk management programs to the association’s 152 banks and financial services companies. … Beginning in January, Utah State University will offer an MBA degree on-site at Brigham Young University-Idaho as part of a new agreement between the two universities. … Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and the Financial Executive Institute of Belgium have created the Vlerick-FEIB CFO Club, the largest CFO organization in Belgium. …

IIM Shillong has also partnered with India’s National Stock Exchange in plans to offer a two year full time postgraduate program in financial markets. …
