GMAT Bus Starts Sixth North American Tour

Emblazoned with graphics showcasing the GMAT logo, the GMAT Mobile Test Center—aka, the GMAT Bus—embarks October 26 on its sixth North American trip.

During an eight-month schedule that runs through early May of next year, the bus will bring the GMAT exam directly to prospective business school students at 28 universities across the United States.

The bus’s mission is to enhance access to the GMAT exam by both business schools and test takers, says Joanna Graham, associate director of the GMAT Program. The schedule has been carefully coordinated to meet the needs of the schools that the bus will visit, she said. “It’s all part of our ongoing partnership with business schools.”

As seen on the video, the customized bus has six high-tech GMAT testing stations and satellite communications links that deliver the GMAT to students located far from a permanent GMAT test center. The mobile test center includes the same sophisticated test-security and ID-verification systems used at the global network of permanent GMAT test centers to ensure that testing on the bus is just like testing at a permanent center.

The mobile test center is managed for GMAC by Pearson VUE, which provides test administration services for the GMAT worldwide.

Since the bus took its inaugural trip in 2006, more than 1,000 students have used its facilities to take the GMAT.

Candidates can register to take the GMAT by either calling GMAT customer service at 1 (800) 717-GMAT (4628) between 7 am to 7 pm Central Time or by visiting Registration opened on August 20.
