Rethink Your Formula for Success at GMAC’s 2009 Annual Industry Conference

These days, success depends on finding ideas or strategies that create a competitive edge. You’ll find all kinds of ideas, along with plenty of chances to network, at GMAC’s 2009 Annual Industry Conference. The timely theme is “Elements of Success: What's Your Formula?” This premier professional development event for graduate management education takes place June 18-20 in Baltimore.

The conference’s keynote addresses will come from two incisive inspirational thinkers:

Many of the conference’s concurrent sessions are designed to offer concrete suggestions for creating opportunities in the face of the recession—ideas, for example, for restructuring staff for maximum productivity, managing the emotional state of today’s MBAs, and making the best decisions in challenging times. A panel of employers will speak to what they are looking for in employees today. Additional sessions will explore timely issues for our industry, including what applicants want, student recruitment and marketing, curricular trends, using technology, developing soft skills, diversity, and much more. View our Agenda at a Glance for a full listing.

The Annual Industry Conference is all about networking, and new this year is the GMAC Conference Facebook page, a place for you to network online. Enter this discussion before the conference, check back during the meeting, and continue your conversation after the conference. The meeting itself is designed with plenty of opportunities for you to chat up old friends and make new contacts. First-time and returning attendees can join two networking sessions that will be offered as the conference begins on Thursday afternoon. Attendees can also connect with friends and colleagues on Friday evening at a gala social event at the Baltimore Museum of Industry.

The conference will be “paper lite” to be as “green” as possible. All conference materials will be available on a special website rather than paper handouts. Attendees can also receive up-to-the-minute updates about the conference while they are onsite, with messages to your cell phone, BlackBerry, or other mobile devices.
