New GMAC® CD Promotes MBA for Military Personnel

The CD targets two audiences—military personnel who are transitioning to civilian careers and those interested in earning an MBA to advance within the military. The free CD offers guidance on preparing for the GMAT® and tips on selecting graduate management programs to meet individual needs.

“We’ve distributed the CD to hundreds of junior officers at several recent U.S. military association conferences, where it has been a big hit,” reports Melissa Knueven, associate director of global citizenship initiatives at GMAC. “Whether they are ready to apply to business school or just considering their options, military personnel are looking for one information source to help them make informed decisions about graduate management education. The CD presentation provides the information and guidance that military personnel seek.”

Knueven, who oversees the Operation MBA program, says that plans now are to distribute the CD on a wider scale to military organizations and installations, and to GMAC schools.

Military personnel make excellent MBA candidates because they are well-grounded in the time-management, team-building, and leadership skills needed to excel in graduate business school—and beyond.

The new CD is the latest example of how GMAC works through Operation MBA to keep this important audience informed about the advantages of building on their military experience by completing an MBA.
