Mind the Communications Gap

Reservations are being accepted for Mind the Communications Gap, GMAC’s  2008 Professional development conference in Europe
The Imagination Gallery, London (UK), 23-24 October 2008.
 
Colleagues from Europe and beyond will take part in an interactive symposium to explore ways to Mind the Communication Gap. Aimed at mid- to senior-level Marketing and Admissions professionals the symposium will identify and explore ways to leverage new and emerging technologies in marketing and admissions. By the end of the event we want attendees to:

  • Understand when and how to use new technology to communicate with prospects and applicants for maximum impact
  • Make better informed investment decisions
  • Know more about the benefits and pitfalls opened up by new technology

“Speakers will stimulate participants  to think and behave differently, come ready to be challenged,” says Julia Tyler, Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and head of the Council’s office in London. She adds that the event will focus on:

  • using new technology for maximum impact
  • making better informed investment decisions
  • learning about the benefits and challenges of new technologies

In addition to opportunities for networking and learning from colleagues facing similar challenges around the world, the workshop will feature insights from expert keynote speakers:
 
Euan Semple helps organizations use Web 2.0 to connect with each other and with clients. Euan previously worked at the BBC, where he took the organization to the “wired” world by using communications technology to interact with audiences, and staff, in new ways. With more than 29,000 staff using online forums, more than 5,000 contributing to wikis, and hundreds of bloggers, Euan will discuss the impact these social computing tools have had on corporate culture and individual behaviour at the BBC, and ultimately how they can transform your organisation’s ability to get things done.

Daniel Erasmus is a consultant, researcher and facilitator with the Digital Thinking Network and has pioneered the use of scenario thinking and scenario planning to create technology strategies. As the evolution of technology accelerates, Daniel will identify what’s next on the horizon so that you can get ready for a more digital future.
 
Program content will be both strategic and tactical in focus so that you can think broadly and still leave the programme with practical solutions in hand. From choosing the most effective medium to maximising your message, don't miss out.
