Stephanie Bartelt has been promoted to associate director of MBA at The Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. Bartelt has been with the MBA programs office since August 2001, starting out as MBA admission coordinator before taking on the role of assistant director of MBA admissions.

Melissa Blakeslee has been named director of admissions for the Full-Time MBA and MBA for Professionals programs at the Rice University Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management. Previously, she served in the office as an associate director of admissions from 2004 to 2006, and she rejoins the admissions team after a year of working as the marketing director for the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship. Prior to joining the Jones Graduate School of Management, Blakeslee worked at Coca-Cola, Ford Motor Company, and Ernst & Young. She holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Stephen A. Carter, Group Chief Executive of Brunswick Group LLP, has been appointed chairman of the Board of Governors of Ashridge Business School. Carter has served on the Ashridge Board since 2005. Prior to joining Brunswick, Carter was chief executive of Ofcom, the UK communications regulator. Before that he was managing director of NTL in the UK and Ireland and chief executive of the advertising group, J Walter Thompson UK.

William G. (Bill) Christie, the Frances Hampton Currey Professor of Finance and professor of law at Vanderbilt University, is the new associate dean for faculty development at the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. Christie joined the Owen faculty in 1989 after completing his PhD at the University of Chicago. Christie is a five-time recipient of the Executive MBA Teaching award and was ranked either first or second among star faculty in each BusinessWeek ranking from 1992 through 2000. He is a former member of the NASDAQ's Economic Advisory Board and editor of the highly respected academic journal Financial Management. Christie served as Owen dean from 2000–2004 and stepped down in June 2004 to return to teaching and research.

Benjamin Guest has been named assistant director of admissions for the Full-Time MBA and MBA for Professionals programs at the Rice University Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management. Guest has been with the Jones School since 2003. Prior to accepting this position, he was a program coordinator on the MBA program office team. He earned his bachelor’s in economics and computer science from Trinity University in San Antonio.

Joanna Gaitros Iturbe has been appointed admissions coordinator for full-time graduate programs at the Baylor University Hankamer School of Business. Iturbe graduated from Baylor in May 2006 with a bachelor's degree in public relations, minor in business administration and concentration in French.

Kaci Kegler is the new marketing and communications manager for Graduate Business Programs at the University of Tulsa. She came to Tulsa from Ferris State University, where she was the director of development for the College of Technology. Kegler earned a bachelor’s degree in printing management from Ferris State University and is a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.

Kathleen Lynch is now an assistant director at the MIT Sloan MBA Career Development Office. Previously, she worked as the assistant director of MBA admissions at Columbia University's Business School. Lynch received a bachelor’s in philosophy from Columbia.

Michael Murphy has taken the position of associate director of graduate management admissions for the Boston College Carroll School of Management. He previously served as an associate director of admissions. Before BU, Murphy worked for Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business as an Assistant Director of Admissions. Before Georgetown he worked for both the Embassy of France in Washington, D.C., and Columbus Newport, LLC, in Arlington, Virginia. Prior to these positions, he taught biology and foreign languages for the Holyoke, Massachusetts, and Windsor, Connecticut, public schools. Murphy is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, where he earned his bachelor’s in French and master’s on education. He also earned an MBA from Georgetown University.

Gina Poe has been promoted to the newly created position of MBA database marketing coordinator at The Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. Poe has been with the MBA Programs staff for more than 10 years.

Anya Reid has been named assistant dean of external relations and development at the University of California, Davis, Graduate School of Management. Before joining the UC Davis Graduate School of Management as senior director of development in September 2005, Reid held marketing positions in the United States, Singapore, and Hong Kong with companies such as SAP Markets Asia Pacific, Similan.com Pte Ltd., Discovery Communications, and Turner International. She was also a brand manager for Southcorp Wines in the Napa Valley. Reid earned her MBA from UC Davis in 2004.

Stephen R. Rockwell, PhD (Michigan State University), is the new director of graduate business programs at the University of Tulsa. Rockwell left his eight-year role as faculty in the School of Accounting and Management Information Systems to assume this new challenge. He also spent seven years on faculty at University of Florida. Prior to joining the faculty, he spent 15 years in public and private accounting.

Christopher Storer has been promoted to director of admission for the Boston University School of Management. Chris holds a bachelor’s in music education from SUNY Fredonia and a master’s in Higher Education Administration from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro.
 
Jennifer Tsutsui
is the new assistant director of graduate admissions for the University of Buffalo School of Management. Jennifer previously worked at Villa Maria College in Buffalo, New York. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from SUNY Fredonia and a master’s in student personnel administration from Buffalo State College.
