GMAC® Begins Test of GMAT® Fee Waivers

The pilot program started in May when an initial number of fee waivers were issued and information about the program was circulated at the annual meeting of NAFSA: Association of International Educators (formerly the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs).

To alleviate red tape in assessing and monitoring program requirements, schools and agencies that administer the test will determine eligibility locally; the pilot program requires them to document their decisions about eligibility in quarterly reports. The waivers expire after one year.

The pilot testing is expected to last for at least one year. GMAC will monitor the program closely and assess its feasibility as a long-term strategy.

“The fee waiver program is part of our commitment to developing a larger and more diverse universe of MBA candidates,” Chestang said. “The pilot test is a key component in the Council’s comprehensive plan to develop the MBA pipeline.”
