GMAC® Invites EMBA Programs to Participate in Validity Study

If you’re involved with an executive MBA (EMBA) program, you may be interested in a new GMAC® study designed to learn more about the effectiveness of various admissions criteria in choosing quality applicants. The project also will help individual programs refine their admissions procedures.

There’s no cost to participate in this validity study. All you have to do is supply data about your EMBA students, and we will produce an individualized report for you detailing the effectiveness of your admissions processes. You’ll also receive a summary of the overall results of the investigation, which will draw upon all the information we obtain from participating programs.

GMAC® is working with the Executive MBA Council (EMBA Council) to conduct this study. The data collected as part of this project will be presented at the EMBA Council’s annual conference next October. Data for this study must be submitted by June 30, 2006.

This project is one in a series of validity studies GMAC® designed to learn more about the relationship between various admissions criteria, including the GMAT® exam, and academic performance in business school. The Council has also conducted a validity study of European programs and is currently cooperating with DocNet to learn about the impact of different admissions factors on doctoral programs. In addition, GMAC® regularly conducts validity studies for individual schools through the Council’s free Validity Study Service.

Please email us at to find out more about participating in this validity study or visit the EMBA Council’s website ( to download a copy of spreadsheet used to input and submit your program level data. You can also find more information about the GMAC® Validity Study Service online at
