MBA Pathfinder® Ready to Accept Employment Statistics

In this era of heightened competition for students, you need powerful ways to bring the very best applicants to your programs. With this in mind, GMAC® is bolstering the mba.com school search service with employment statistics—making this popular, free tool for prospective MBA students an even more powerful way for business schools to attract the right applicants to their programs.

Armed with clear information, applicants will be able to identify programs that most interest them—and you will improve your ability to catch the attention of people contemplating going to b-school. The enhancements to the mba.com school search service will be available to students beginning in late June.

Please take time as soon as possible to visit the Pathfinder—which feeds the mba.com school search service—to input employment information about your program. Make sure your program is not left out when prospective students search for programs. Visitors to mba.com conduct more than 35,000 mba.com school searches every month!

In order to take advantage of the expansion of the MBA Pathfinder® data warehouse, schools must have adopted the GMAC® MBA Reporting Criteria. The MBA Reporting Criteria are data standards and definitions governing submission of program information to MBA Pathfinder®. For aggregate employment data, these criteria are the MBA CSC Standards for Reporting MBA Employment Statistics.

We remain committed to ensuring that every school participating in this enhancement to the MBA Pathfinder® data warehouse adheres to the same high standards when assembling and sharing information. As such, audits will continue to be conducted annually by random selection. Note, however, that the first employment data KPMG will audit will be the 2005 employment data; these audits will begin in 2006. This is to allow mock audits to be performed on the 2004 employment data and the audit standards and procedures to be fully developed. We took this same approach when the standards around admissions and entering class statistics were first developed.
