Global GMAT® Volume Tops 200,000 in 2004

Worldwide GMAT® volume for calendar year 2004 came in at 203,613, a 6.6% decrease compared with the previous year, when the number of tests taken around the world hit 218,037.

In the United States, testing volume for the year was 138,228, a 5.1% decline. GMAT® volume outside the United States was 65,385, down 9.6%.

Although testing volume was off for the year, there were signs of improvement in several key regions as 2004 came to a close. Testing volume in China rose 17% in December compared with the previous month; volume improved at a 9% clip in India. Meanwhile, an increase in testing activity in France, Greece, and the United Kingdom during December helped push volume for December up 15% in Western Europe in comparison with figures posted in November.
