2004 GMAC® Annual Industry Conference: "Leaders in Concert" Promises Beautiful Music in Boston

Leadership guru Jim Collins and maestro Benjamin Zander headline this year’s GMAC® Annual Industry Conference, to be held June 17–19 in Boston, Massachusetts. The theme is Leaders in Concert, emphasizing a harmonious sharing of ideas and strategies among thought leaders from different regions, schools, and functional areas.

Keynote presenter Jim Collins created and runs a research lab for large-scale research projects and writes extensively on what it takes for companies to achieve greatness. He finds that it starts with leadership: “First who, then what.” Collins is the author of Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies (a BusinessWeek bestseller for nearly five years), Managing the Small to Mid-Sized Company: Concepts and Cases, and Beyond Entrepreneurship: Turning Your Business into an Enduring Great Company.

Benjamin Zander cowrote The Art of Possibility, which inspires readers to expand their vision of what is possible and persevere in fulfilling their goals and dreams. He is on the faculty of the New England Conservatory, where he teaches interpretation classes and conducts the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the conservatory orchestras. He travels the world as a guest speaker on leadership and has served as a keynote speaker at events including the World Economic Forum.

In addition to the keynote sessions, an array of concurrent sessions and workshops will cover topics pertinent to the graduate management education market, providing the latest information on market trends, the best strategic approaches, the newest applicant and corporate recruiter research findings, the most eagerly anticipated networking, and much more—all against the backdrop of beautiful Boston.
