Save Recommenders Valuable Time
As part of our commitment to support and serve schools, GMAC convened a group of leading business schools who wanted to streamline the process of asking for and submitting letters of recommendation.
The goal of the Common Letter of Recommendation (LOR) is to save recommenders and alumni valuable time by providing a single, common set of questions. The questions remain embedded in each participating school’s existing application system. This approach allows recommenders to use the same answers for multiple letter submissions, alleviating the need to answer dozens of additional questions for different schools. The new form design captures the best practices from leading programs, and leverages the latest science in executive evaluation to glean additional insights into each applicant's candidacy. By improving the application experience, schools can garner additional insights into candidacy of applicants, lessen the request on behalf of the applicants, and reduce the workload on behalf of recommenders.
While GMAC is supporting this initiative, it is the business schools who are leading the effort, with GMAC helping to convene, gather information from industry experts, and solicit input from candidates from around the globe.
The Common LoR form is available for use by any program or school around the globe, integrating directly within existing application/CRM systems. If you would like to learn more and are interested in participating, please contact Andy Martelli at firstname.lastname@example.org.
