Why participate in this complimentary webinar?

Today’s pipeline of prospective students from U.S. underrepresented groups is notably different than the pipeline from five years ago. This webinar addressed some of those differences by offering a discussion of the following:

  • Trends in U.S. underrepresented student pipelines (including African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans) seen through GMAT testing and survey data
  • Data profiles by age, educational background, and work experience
  • Candidates’ preferences for program type and study destination
  • Funding expectations and other decision-making influencers

What types of data about prospects were featured?

How many of today’s prospective students are from U.S. underrepresented groups? When do they make decisions about business school? Where can I find them? Who’s influential in their decision?
And, what career outcomes are they seeking? The answers to these questions and other trends were included:

  • The total number of individual test takers among U.S. underrepresented populations is up 2.7% from 2007, compared with a decline of -3.3% from all other U.S. test takers.
  • The representation of diverse women continues to stay at levels much higher than other US citizens (37% of individual test takers), as 52% of African Americans and 45% of both Hispanic American and Native Americans are women.
  • Hispanics move six months faster on average from considering business school to submitting an application when compared with both African Americans and all Other U.S. citizens.
  • Shifts in the top five U.S. metropolitan areas indicate that along with New York City, Atlanta and Houston are emerging as leading sources of talent for U.S. underrepresented populations looking to attend business school.
