Opening Plenary: The Future of Work

Monday | November 14 | 2016 | 2:30 pm - 3:30 PM
Riley Auditorium

Despite working for a technology company, Nicola isn't a technologist and combines psychology with futurology to try and anticipate what might be lying around the corner for both customers and organisations. Having worked for BT for 25 years, she was involved with a number of BT "firsts", including the first application of intelligent systems into BT's call centres and BT's initial experimentation with home working. In this session, Nicola will describe how different forces including technology are affecting the workplace, and hence the future workforce. Insights from this conversation will be key for business schools as we think of the profiles we need to attract going forward, the skills we need to develop in our students, and the types of careers they will be going into post-graduation.
