Opening Keynote: Management Education: The Journey Ahead

Drawing from his years as a global marketing scholar, Dipak Jain will offer perspectives on how both the theory and practise of graduate management education are being affected by globalisation, hypercompetition, technological innovation, and growing attention to entrepreneurship, sustainability, and business ethics. In addition to considering potential new models of management education that go beyond conventional Western frameworks, he will focus on strategies that can strengthen three key areas: student quality, curriculum and research, and placement. Other topics will include the importance of vigorous collaboration with alumni, corporate recruiters, advisory boards, and even so-called competitors; and how social media and other technological tools advance and influence such engagement.
