Power in the Ranks: Introduction to Rankings

Monday | July 18 | 2016 | 8:15 pm - 10:30 PM

Rankings are a major influencer in the decision-making process of most, if not all, candidates. Understanding how the different rankings work and what they measure can help you answer stakeholder inquiries as well as better position your school relative to your competitors.  This session will provide an overview of global ranking methodologies using the University of Reston’s Cave Hill Business School (Cave Hill) case study. Cave Hill is an imaginary institution based in Reston, VA, which is facing myriad challenges, including a fall in published rankings and a mandate to increase application quantity and quality.  While this experiential exercise is designed so that your own school won’t be a target, there will be an opportunity to discuss how you can implement key learnings and concepts in your own program.
