GMAC and The MBA Tour Host First Business Master’s Virtual Event for Leading Business Schools in Europe

With a growing number of international students attracted to Europe, GMAC is bringing Europe’s leading business master’s programs to a global audience

RESTON, Va. (Nov. 2, 2020) – The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), a global association of leading graduate business schools, acquired The MBA Tour in 2019 to foster more strategic dialogue across the tour circuit. Following a successful series of virtual MBA tours across the globe earlier this year, today GMAC and The MBA Tour announced the first-ever virtual event focused on bringing Europe’s top business master’s programs to interested candidates in regions around the world.

“Since the outset of COVID-19, GMAC has built upon its legacy of responding to the ever-changing landscape of graduate management education, delivering the GMAT™ Online exam in April and more recently transitioning The MBA Tour events from in-person gatherings to an entirely virtual experience,” said Petia Whitmore, managing director of The MBA Tour. “Focusing on current market trends, which include the explosive growth in demand for business master’s programs—more than 3,000 of which use the GMAT exam to support admissions—we know there’s a business program for everyone. Our role, consistent with GMAC’s mission, is to provide schools and candidates the opportunity to meet, explore and connect in this environment, in a data-driven way,” Whitmore continued.

The GMAC Master’s Tour: study in Europe is another platform empowering GMAC to deliver on these objectives, empowering key stakeholders to engage and connect in an uncertain environment. This highly interactive, virtual event will connect 16 of Europe’s leading business schools with students interested in pursuing a business master’s degree in Europe. Over two live sessions across four hours, attendees will choose between 104 sessions that explore all facets of the journey toward studying for a graduate business degree in Europe.

Event Platform

GMAC will facilitate the event via Whova, an award-winning third-party platform, facilitating more meaningful and organic interactions between attendees, university representatives, current students, and alumni. Message boards will also enable attendees to connect with each other by asking and answering questions or creating groups with shared interests.

Event Format

The GMAC Master’s Tour: study in Europe will feature sessions across two days and times to accommodate candidates from all over the world—from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe and countries in between. Candidates will meet Europe’s leading business programs in one place on December 1 from 10-14 GMT, and December 3 from 18-22 GMT.

Over two live sessions, more than 45 hours of content will be delivered, featuring multi-school panels and single school MeetUps.

During each live session, attendees will take part in four multi-school panels, exploring the topics they want to hear about, followed by a dedicated breakout session to connect directly with presenters.

MeetUps, The MBA Tour’s signature event feature that proved successful in global virtual tour events over the summer, will be more accessible than ever. Each small group discussion will have a defined focus so attendees can join based on their specific interests. While the number of attendees at each MeetUp will be capped to ensure a personal interaction, attendees can join as many as they like over the course of the two-day event.

About GMAC

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) is a mission-driven association of leading graduate business schools worldwide. Founded in 1953, we are committed to creating solutions for business schools and candidates to better discover, evaluate, and connect with each other. We work on behalf of the schools and the graduate management education community, and guide candidates on their journey to higher education, to ensure that no talent goes undiscovered.

GMAC provides world-class research, professional development opportunities and assessments for the graduate management education industry, designed to advance the art and science of admissions. Owned and administered by GMAC, the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) exam is the most widely used graduate business school assessment, recognized by more than 7,000 programs worldwide. Other GMAC assessments include the NMAT by GMAC (NMAT) exam, for entrance into graduate management programs in India, Nigeria, the Philippines, and South Africa, and the Executive Assessment (EA), which supports the admissions needs of more than 160 programs around the world.

Our flagship portal for graduate management education resources and information, mba.com, receives over 7 million visits a year and features the Program Finder matching tool and GMASS search service, a data-driven technology that helps connect candidates and business schools. These platforms are part of GMAC Connect, a suite of services that help schools attract students through recruiting solutions that marry our market intelligence, data, reach and candidate touchpoints.

Subsidiaries of GMAC include UK-based online publishing company BusinessBecause, a content-rich destination that helps students identify the right-fit business schools during the critical consideration and selection phases of their journey, and The MBA Tour, which supports business schools’ global recruiting efforts by organizing business education-focused events virtually and around the world.
