The GMAC 2012 Annual Conference was a great success! With more than 560 graduate business school professionals from 200+ universities located in 23 countries, the conference provided attendees with a unique opportunity for attendees to reach Beyond the Next Generation. A variety of keynote and concurrent sessions allowed attendees the opportunity to focus on trends and issues affecting them now—from Trends in Social Media, to Diversity by the Numbers, to Managing and Leading Great Staff and Team Meetings. The keynote sessions, The Medici Effect: The Intersection of Disciplines and Cultures and The Accidental Creative: How to Be Brilliant at a Moment’s Notice, encouraged attendees to think beyond the next generation.

The launch of Next Generation GMAT exam in early June makes this conference the perfect time to begin exploring “What’s Next?” The 2012 Annual Conference is the perfect forum for the intersection of new ideas and new networks, collectively allowing us–schools and GMAC–to create new pathways which help you better recruit, select, and educate your future students.

Frans Johansson

GMAC Annual Meeting of Member Schools | Wednesday, June 20 | 5 – 6 pm

Deans and primary and alternate representatives from member schools will convene to discuss the overall direction of GMAC with the Council's board of directors and management.

  • Sign-in for the Annual Meeting will be on Wednesday from 4:30–5 pm, the Annual Meeting will be held from 5–6:30 pm.
  • Primary and alternate representatives whose travel expenses are covered and whose registration fee is waived are required to attend this meeting.
  • Travel information for primary and alternate representatives can be found on the Designate Representatives site and on the Registration & Travel tab.
As part of GMAC's effort to make the 2012 GMAC Business Meeting in Chicago an efficient use of everyone's time, we have posted a video report from Peg Jobst, GMAC's Executive Vice President for the GMAT Division, on the the launch of the GMAT Exam with Integrated Reasoning, along with a report on soft skills and upcoming product initiatives.

We invite you to watch this three-minute video update and, if you like, submit questions - on any topic related to the Annual Conference, not just the video's content - to be answered at the 2012 Business Meeting. Questions should be sent to

GMAC Admission Symposium (formerly ADS/DADS) | Tuesday, June 19 – Wednesday, June 20

The Admission Symposium is a pre-conference program designed specifically for GMAC member schools. Admissions Directors/Heads of/Senior Managers/Programme Directors*, and Admissions Associate-Assistant Directors/Managers/Officers* from GMAC members are invited to register.

The symposium provides an opportunity to network, share, and learn from and with your global colleagues in facilitated discussion format.  As well, we will feature an interactive discussion on the new GMAT® exam with IR that can help you begin to better use the new scores in your admissions process.  Preview the agenda and register for this symposium as part of the GMAC Annual Conference registration.  Registration fee for the symposium is $130.

* Member schools can register those staff that have direction-setting and decision-making responsibilities in admissions, marketing, and/or recruitment.

Asia Pacific Breakfast | Thursday, June 21 | 7:30 – 8:30 am

If you have come from India, Asia or the Pacific, you’re invited to join the staff from the GMAC offices in Hong Kong and Gurgaon at an informal breakfast specifically for business schools based in the APAC region. Don’t miss this chance to learn about GMAC activities in APAC as you connect with area colleagues.

Europe, Middle East, and Africa Breakfast | Thursday, June 21 | 7:30 – 8:30 am

If you are attending the conference from Europe, Middle East, or Africa regions, the GMAC EMEA team would like to invite you to a special breakfast hosted for business schools based in these regions. The breakfast will be an informal opportunity for you to network with your regional colleagues while learning more about GMAC activities in EMEA.
