The Application Trends Survey, GMAC’s annual assessment of application volume trends for graduate management programs, offers timely insights into demographic shifts and other factors defining the candidate pools for the coming year’s application cycle.

Why Application Trends Survey?

Data collected annually in this survey of admissions professionals worldwide yields valuable insights on application volume trends for the coming year, expected changes in program size and enrollment rates, and demographic changes in applicant pool composition. Business school admissions staff can use these findings in planning, marketing, and recruitment activities.

GMAC also produces a shorter Preliminary Application Trends study each February for an early look at application volume for classes starting late summer but also for end-of-cycle results for programs starting in January. Results from this survey are distributed only to participating schools.

Achieve Your Recruitment and Program Goals:

  • Compare application volume trends from year to year to better understand how expanded diversity of degree options and program formats influences prospective student demand.
  • Examine survey findings to better gauge your own school’s position compared with regional and demographic market trends to develop creative recruitment strategies tailored to your school’s strengths and resources.
  • Use application volume data to inform your candidate outreach to attract new talent each year and build a strong class of incoming students.
