There are several steps a candidate must take before taking the Computer-Adaptive GMAT® exam.
First, the test taker must first select a GMAT test center location. Each test center operates on its own schedule and can accommodate varying numbers of test takers. Test takers choose the most convenient location for them by using the Check Seat Availability function on mba.com or in the GMAT Information Bulletin.
Once they have decided where to take the test, test takers then need to schedule a GMAT exam appointment using one of three methods—online, by phone, or by mail. They can find out what times are available at their chosen test center by using the Check Seat Availability feature on mba.com, or they can choose to Schedule an Appointment.
If a test taker has a documented disability and requires special testing accommodations, he or she must follow the registration procedures as described in the Test Takers with Disabilities article on mba.com or in the GMAT Information Bulletin.
Before a candidate schedules a GMAT appointment, we recommend that they learn about and practice taking the exam. They can do so by downloading a free copy of GMATPrep® test-preparation software or purchasing additional test preparation products in the mba.com Store. GMATPrep includes two full-length practice exams as well as review sections for each type of question asked on the exam.
Additional details on GMAT exam registration and preparation, payment methods, and policies and procedures can be found in the The GMAT section of mba.com.
