Introduction
Hundreds of thousands of test takers and admissions officers who look at GMAT® scores each year depend on one thing—that the scores will give them some information about the suitability of a test taker for a graduate management program. The degree to which GMAT scores can predict academic success in a graduate management program is known as the predictive validity of the test.
The Graduate Management Admission Council® (GMAC®), sponsor of the GMAT exam and the Validity Study Service (VSS), strongly advises each individual program that uses the GMAT scores to do a study of how well the scores predict student success in its core curriculum. To help accomplish this, the Council provides the VSS free of charge to any school that receives GMAT scores. Click here to download a sample VSS report.
