Corporate Recruiters Survey

The primary purposes of this annual survey of graduate business student employers are to—

  • Assess the current employment landscape,
  • Gauge the demand for graduate business students,
  • Provide benchmark reports to participating schools,
  • Obtain employer views on opportunities and hurdles involved in hiring business graduates, and
  • Provide employers with an opportunity to share hiring and retention challenges and best practices.

Major findings from the 2008 Corporate Recruiters Survey:

  • The job outlook for MBAs is stable, even in the financial sector, and demand for graduate business students remains strong.
  • Employers differentiate graduates of MBA, MSc, and other specialized master’s in business programs in their compensation packages and responsibilities offered.
  • Financial incentives are an effective short-term MBA retention strategy, but an employee-centric philosophy is most effective for long-term retention.
