What are the minimum criteria for GMAC membership eligibility?
To be considered for an invitation to GMAC® membership, schools must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Require the Graduate Management Admission Test® for admission to all programs granting a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent program that are taught in English. Exceptions to the GMAT® exam requirement may include:
a. Executive MBA (EMBA) programs; and
b. Programs that are subject to a higher governing authority’s requirements (e.g., dual-degree programs where the university supersedes the individual school’s admissions policies or governmental authority mandates use of certain assessments).
- The school is authorized to award degrees and is accredited by a relevant accreditation agency or relevant governmental agency or ministry; or alternatively, can provide evidence that its programs meet generally accepted standards of high quality in the management education industry.
- The school must adopt and adhere to the MBA Reporting Criteria and must enter the following data elements into the MBA Pathfinder® database for at least one of its programs:
a. Must define the reporting period;
b. Must define what constitutes a completed application;
c. Must enter the number of completed applications received within the defined time period; and
d. Must enter the number of matriculants to that program in that defined time period.
- The school must receive over 500 GMAT scores per year or have a history of participation in GMAC research (such as the Validity Study Service surveys), professional development programs (such as the Annual Industry Conference, MBA Leadership Conference, or Professional Development Program), or products (such as GMASS®).
