Initiated in 2003, this annual survey tracks the progression of prospective students through the MBA pipeline. Research objectives are to—
- Develop a profile of prospective applicants
- Determine what factors cause them to apply or not apply
- Determine the elapsed time between when they begin thinking about pursuing a graduate business degree and when they apply to business school, and
- Define the characteristics of the schools prospective students apply to and attend.

2008 Survey Report: provides context and a holistic view of major survey results from the October 2007 survey.
2008 Comprehensive Data Report: provides data tables and summaries of overall findings for the October 2007 survey.
Major findings from the October 2007 survey:
- There are major differences in the motivations, interests, and selection criteria of prospective students by world region, plus significant differences by gender and age within each region.
- There is a high degree of competition between part-time MBA programs and online/distance learning MBA programs.
- Prospective students consider 5 key criteria when selecting schools: quality & prestige, convenience & location, costs & financial considerations, the classroom experience, and accreditation & curriculum.
