Christina M. Ballenger recently joined the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University as assistant director of MBA programs, concentrating on recruiting part-time and minority students. She previously served as an admissions representative for Kaplan Higher Education at Technology Education College. Ballenger holds a BBA in marketing from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Capital University.
Michael J. Deotte is the new director of marketing and publicity for the University of Connecticut School of Business. He is responsible for creating and managing the school’s strategic marketing communications initiatives at multiple campuses across the state. Deotte served previously as marketing and publicity manager for the business school, a post he assumed in 2000. Earlier, he worked as director of marketing for enrollment planning and student affairs at Sacred Heart University. Deotte received a BS from Bryant University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut School of Business.
Steve Hoskins has been named executive director of business placement and career services at the University of Connecticut School of Business. He will direct the school’s services office, promote the MBA program to employers, and manage the school’s relationships with corporations in the United States and elsewhere. Hoskins formerly worked as executive director of the graduate career management office at the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. Before joining the Moore School, he spent time at St. John Fisher College and in the corporate world. Hoskins has a BA from Curry College and an MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Gail Kent has assumed the role of chief marketing officer at the School of Business at the College of William and Mary. A 30-year public relations and marketing veteran, she formerly was director of college communications at Virginia Wesleyan College. Kent holds an AB degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill and is completing an MFA in creative writing at Old Dominion University.
