Reena Aggarwal has been named interim dean of the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. A veteran faculty member, Aggarwal will lead the b-school during the 2004–05 academic year while Georgetown conducts a search for a permanent dean to replace John W. Mayo, who stepped down in July.

A member of the McDonough faculty since 1986, Aggarwal teaches courses in corporate finance and investment banking. She holds a master’s of management studies degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, India, and earned a PhD in finance from the University of Maryland.

As a Fulbright Scholar, Aggarwal visited Brazil and Chile to investigate stock markets and privatization programs in those countries. She has worked with such organizations as the World Bank, the Nasdaq Stock Market, the United Nations, the and U.S. Agency for International Development.

Elissa Ellis, former assistant dean and director of the MBA program at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, has been named executive director of the Forté Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women occupy positions of influence in the business world.

At the McCombs School, Ellis had broad responsibility for many aspects of the graduate business program. She oversaw marketing, admissions, student services, and alumni relations—experiences she is applying in her new role directing the Forté Foundation’s efforts to increase the number of women in senior management jobs.

Ellis earned an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in English from Texas A&M University and formerly served as assistant director of that university’s MBA program. She was chair of the 2004 GMAC® Annual Industry Conference, and has chaired the MBA Student Services Professionals.
