Kurt Christensen has been named senior associate dean for academic affairs at the Kogod School of Business at American University.

Christensen comes to Kogod from the Kellogg School of Management, where he has served as a faculty member, as well as the associate director of executive education, since 1982. Christensen previously served as a visiting professor at Kogod, assistant professor of strategic management at Purdue University’s Krannert Graduate School of Management, and visiting professor at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He has consulted on and taught management development programs in the United States, Europe, Mexico, South America, and Thailand. He earned his PhD in management and strategy from Columbia University.

Peter G. Kelly has been named assistant dean and executive director for corporate relations at the Boston University School of Management. Kelly was director of graduate admissions and financial aid at the School of Management from August 1996 through January 2001. Prior to this, he was on the faculty at Clark University, where he combined teaching with graduate admissions. Kelly also served as an executive recruiter for J. Robert Scott, a Fidelity Investment Company.

Kelly received his BA as a double major in anthropology and Spanish at Lawrence University and his MBA at Thunderbird.

Robert Kolb has been named assistant dean for business and society at the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Leeds School of Business. In this position, Kolb will coordinate the Leeds School’s initiative that examines the impact business has on society. Kolb taught at the University of Miami from 1983 until 1995. From 1990 to 1995, he was the John S. and James L. Knight Professor of Finance. During his tenure at Miami, he served as department chair. Previously he taught at Emory University and the University of Florida. He earned PhDs in finance and philosophy from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Robert McLean has been appointed dean and director of the Australian Graduate School of Management, serving both the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales. McLean was previously managing partner of McKinsey & Company for Australia and New Zealand. Since leaving that position in 1997, he has been active as a company director, serving on the boards of CSR, Pacific Dunlop, and GS Private Equity. He has also served in private equity investment and nonprofit community roles as president of the Benevolent Society, chairman of Social Ventures Australia, and a director of the Centre for Independent Studies. McLean has a degree in economic statistics from the University of New England and an MBA from the Columbia Business School.
