Following extensive pilot-testing and early adoption by hundreds of business schools, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) will make its official debut on October 26, 2009.

DATA TO GO: Record GMAT Volume FOR Testing Year 2000-2009

Annual GMAT volume hit a record for the second straight year, with 265,613 exams administered in the Testing Year 09, which ended June 30. That total was up 7.55 percent from the 246,957 tests taken the year before. The TY08 figure eclipsed the previous record of 244,655 in TY02. GMAT volume has increased each year for the past five years.

New Student Loan Program Gains Traction

Among the many results of the international financial crisis was a squeeze on the availability of college loans. Most lenders scaled back on overall student lending. Essentially, all traditional lenders eliminated the ability of international students to borrow without US credit-worthy co-signers.

GMAT Data Protection Program Wins Top Award for Data Privacy

The Graduate Management Admission Council’s data protection program for the Graduate Management Admission Test won an international Privacy Innovation Award September 17 from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
