Corporate Recruiters Predict 2008 MBA Hiring, Salaries Will Stay Competitive

In a precursor to the 2008 GMAC® Corporate Recruiters Survey, which will be released in early 2008, GMAC researchers spent several weeks last month asking 142 corporate recruiters key questions about trends in MBA hiring and salaries. Those polled said they expected the hiring of MBAs to remain intense and competitive in 2008, and suggested that demand for MBAs may also drive salaries upward.

Where are the Women?

At a meeting last month, an attorney asked me if it was true that more women were pursuing MBAs than law degrees, something she had heard from her alma mater. I have no doubt that this prominent law school might well have been losing candidates to business schools, in that they attract a caliber of applicants who could succeed in a variety of fields. But this conversation reminded me that we are still not seeing the numbers of women we should be seeing in MBA programs.
