DATA TO GO: How Many US MBA Students and Graduates Are There?

A GMAC study makes a research-based estimate.

Marina Murray, associate director of research at the Graduate Management Admission Council, estimates that there are at least 250,000 students enrolled in MBA programs annually, and some 100,000 MBA degrees are awarded per year, representing at least 66 percent of all graduate business degrees conferred in the US. Murray’s study, MBA Share in the US Graduate Management Education Market, won the Outstanding Research Award from the Institute for Business and Finance Research in January.
