“We decided to take this step as an additional investment in the futures of our graduates,” says Melvin T. Stith, dean of the Whitman School. “Studies show that the closer to college graduation a student takes the GMAT, the higher the score, and we know the scores are valid for five years. This means we are helping build a strong future for our students.”
At the University of Maine, meanwhile, the Maine Business School has announced a pilot scholarship opportunity to help alumni face financial hardship. Students who graduated from the university in May 2006 or later—and who meet admission standards—can receive scholarships equivalent to a 25 percent tuition discount in UMaine's MBA or Master of Science in Accounting programs.
