GMAC Marks TeamMBA Month

Throughout April, thousands of graduate management students, faculty, and staff have been proving their commitment to the principles of social responsibility by engaging in service projects as part of TeamMBA Month. The initiative recognizes and supports the efforts of graduate management institutions to give back to society. Since the inception of TeamMBA in 2005, nearly 7,000 students have donated over 25,000 hours of their time and raised more than $500,000 for charities and causes around the world.

For this year’s TeamMBA Month, more than 3,400 students from 44 schools are participating in over 50 service projects. A sampling of the projects includes:

  • Cleaning and refurbishing public schools
  • Mentoring in a prison entrepreneurship program
  • Supporting services for children, adults, and families with emotional or mental health challenges and developmental disabilities

“Schools are joining in this collective effort to demonstrate their deep commitment to student social engagement and to unify in a global movement to strengthen the relationship between the graduate management education community and society,” said Melissa Knueven, associate director of global citizenship initiatives at GMAC, the organizer of TeamMBA Month.

There is still time to take part—just register service projects and activities that your students are doing through May 3.
