China is Focus of November EFMD Conference in Shanghai

China is sometimes viewed as a manufacturing hub, but the reality is that Chinese companies are rapidly moving into higher value-added areas of the supply chain, such as pre-manufacturing design and post-manufacturing distribution. In addition, China is showing a global presence in corporate mergers and acquisitions.

The rapid evolution of Chinese business practices in turn has implications for management education and executive training.

GMAC is supporting a conference that will explore these issues that takes place November 5-6 in Shanghai. The meeting will be offered by the European Foundation for Management Development and the China Europe International Business School, which will host the meeting on its campus.

The conference, Chinese Companies Going Global - Managerial Challenges & Aspirations, will explore changes in China’s culture, economy, and business practices. Sessions will explore the current climate for investment in China, opportunities for trade between China and Europe and Latin America, and lessons that can be learned from Chinese corporations, with suggestions for education, leadership development, and talent management.
